very morning starts differently. Sometimes you want to chat. Sometimes coffee. Sometimes a date. Traditional dating apps ignore that. BEAT begins with a daily Mood Wheel where everyone chooses what they’re looking for today. Then a shared daily question gets the conversation started. Less guessing. Less swiping. More meeting people who want the same thing, on the same day.
One assumption behind BEAT is that what we re looking for isn t static. Some days we want to chat, some days we d rather grab a coffee, flirt, meet someone new or go on a date.
That s why we built the daily Mood Wheel.
We re curious: does your intention actually change from day to day, or do you think most dating apps are right to assume it stays the same?
BEAT is in public beta, and we re still making decisions every week.
After trying it, what s the first thing you would improve? A feature, the onboarding, the Mood Wheel, messaging or something we haven t even considered?

I kept asking myself one question:
Why do dating apps assume I’m looking for the same thing every day?
On Monday I might just want a good conversation.
On Wednesday I’d love to grab a coffee.
On Saturday I might be open to a date.
Most dating apps treat intent as something static. Human beings aren’t static.
That became the starting point for BEAT.
The first thing you do each day isn’t swipe. It’s spin the Mood Wheel and tell the community what you’re actually in the mood for today. Chat. Coffee. Meet. Flirt. Date. Something unforgettable… whatever fits your day.
Only after that do conversations begin—with one shared daily question everyone answers. You discover people through how they think, and you already know you’re looking for the same kind of interaction today.
The product changed a lot while we built it, but the Mood Wheel never disappeared. Everything else evolved around it.
We’re launching early because we want to learn from people who care about building better social products.
I’d love to hear your thoughts. If you could redesign dating from scratch, what would you change first?
