👋We are incredibly excited to share BBI Cookie Privacy Control with you all today! What inspired us to build this?
The web has a massive blind spot when it comes to compliance. While privacy laws (like GDPR) have forced almost every website to adopt cookie consent banners, the vast majority of these popups are absolute nightmares for accessibility.
They frequently trap keyboard focus, break screen readers, and completely disregard WCAG guidelines. We believe that protecting a user’s privacy shouldn't mean destroying their user experience. We were inspired to build a solution where privacy compliance and web inclusivity coexist perfectly.
Most WordPress site owners want to be fully compliant with modern tracking requirements—like Google Consent Mode v2, Google Analytics, GTM, and Meta Pixel—but they don't have the technical design resources to build an accessible consent flow from scratch.
BBI Cookie Privacy Control bridges that gap. It gives site owners an out-of-the-box, lightweight WordPress plugin that blocks analytics and marketing scripts until consent is given, while keeping the entire experience entirely keyboard-friendly, screen-reader accessible, and perfectly navigable.
When we first started mapping out this plugin, our focus was purely on deep privacy integration and script-gating. However, during early accessibility testing, we quickly realised how easily a simple layout shift or an unoptimized modal could ruin the experience for an assistive tech user.
Because of this, we shifted our entire development process to be accessibility-first. Every single banner, preference modal, and "reopen" toggle was engineered with precise focus management and semantic HTML elements. We would love to get your feedback, answer any questions, and hear how you approach accessibility on your own websites!
Thank you so much for checking us out! 🚀

Does this handle the different consent rules per EU country automatically, or do I need to configure each region's requirements manually through the settings?

@serdar962425 Great question. We built this plugin accessibility-first, so the main goal is making consent clear and usable for everyone while still supporting GDPR-focused deployment.
It includes Geo Targeting Mode with Global, GDPR Region (EU + EEA + UK), and Custom Country Rules.
So you can run a straightforward GDPR setup out of the box, and optionally target specific countries manually.
We don’t position it as automatic legal interpretation for each individual country’s law, but as a practical, accessible consent system with flexible targeting controls.

One thing I'd love to see is a built-in scanner that actually crawls your site and flags any cookies or scripts the plugin didn't auto-detect, since I always worry there are stragglers I miss during setup. Would save a lot of manual checking.

@masal1428947 Love this suggestion, and you’re absolutely right that missed “straggler” scripts are a real concern.
We intentionally didn’t build a scanner in v1 because there are already strong specialist SaaS tools focused on continuous cookie/script discovery and audits.
Our focus is accessibility-first consent UX and reliable consent gating, while keeping setup lightweight.
That said, scanner-style auditing is on our roadmap as a potential integration/companion feature so users can combine best-in-class discovery with our consent controls.
