I am Lakshay, and I built Baton.

The problem: I use ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini side by side, and every time I switched I had to re-explain my whole project. Usage limits made it worse.

Baton exports the chat you have open as a Markdown file and imports it into any of the other two, so the new AI starts with the full context.

What it does today:

• Exports the whole chat, including older messages, as plain Markdown (cleaner and lighter than JSON)

• "Short version" cuts a very long chat down to the requests, decisions, code and where you stopped, so you spend fewer tokens re-sending context

• Import by drag and drop (it also reads JSON chat exports)

• An optional note for the next AI ("turn this into a 5-slide deck")

• Nothing leaves your browser, no account, no servers

What it doesn't do yet: it carries the text of the conversation, not images or file contents (file names are listed).
It also reads the chat you have open, not other chats from your sidebar.

These sites change their pages often, so if something breaks there's a "Copy diagnostics" button and I'll fix it fast.

I'd love to hear which direction you use most (ChatGPT → Claude? Claude → Gemini?) and what you'd want next.
