Basecamp was born out of a frustration I lived every day as a solo builder, you're building something real, but you're doing it completely alone. No one to show up with, no one to hold you accountable, and existing communities were either too noisy (Discord) or too passive (Twitter/X).
I wanted a space where builders could actually show up to work, not just post about working. So I combined three things no platform had together: live co-working rooms (see who's building right now and jump in), a daily build log with streak mechanics to fight inconsistency, and a community layer that rewards shipping over talking.
The process evolved a lot, I started with just the rooms, then realized presence without accountability was hollow. Adding streaks and build logs changed the entire retention dynamic. The platform went from "interesting concept" to something people genuinely open every morning like a second office tab.
The problem I was solving: most builders fail not from lack of skill, but from isolation and inconsistency. Basecamp is the fix for both.
