BarShift brings multiple bookmark bar profiles to Chrome. Create separate setups for work, personal use, study, gaming and more, then switch the actual Chrome bookmark bar in one click. Your bookmarks stay in Chrome and work with Chrome Sync. Save pages directly to any profile, customize profiles with names, icons, colors and descriptions, and keep different parts of your browsing organized without switching Chrome profiles.
Hey Product Hunt,
I built BarShift because I wanted a simple way to keep different parts of my browsing separate without switching Chrome profiles.
I use the bookmark bar a lot, but work links, personal bookmarks, development resources and everything else quickly end up mixed together. I wanted to keep using Chrome's real bookmark bar, just with different setups depending on what I was doing.
That became BarShift.
You can create profiles for work, personal use, study, gaming or anything else and switch the actual Chrome bookmark bar between them in one click. BarShift works with Chrome's built-in bookmark system, so your bookmarks stay in Chrome and continue to work with Chrome Sync.
I also added features I wanted myself, including saving the current page directly to any profile, profile customization, pinned profiles and quick switching.
BarShift is now available on the Chrome Web Store, and I'd really like to hear what you think. I'm especially interested in feedback around the profile switching workflow and anything you'd like to see improved.
Thanks for checking it out!
