Identical containers, the same fixed snapshot, eight site profiles, a warm-up then three measured runs. Backup time, restore time, archive size, and what each plugin actually archived. That last one matters most. All-in-One WP Migration excludes WordPress core by design, so its archive alone will not rebuild a site on an empty server. SafeGuard is mine. It came second.

maker here, and the disclosure matters for this one: i built the arena, and i also sell a backup plugin (safeguard) that appears in it. that is a fair thing to be suspicious of, so the design is built around not needing to be trusted. every run publishes its logs, the profiles are described in full on the methodology page, and you can rerun any matchup yourself. i would rather you check than take my word for it. i got called out on reddit earlier this year for calling it "independent", which it is not. reframing about thirty claims across the site was the right consequence. it is public and reproducible, not independent. the thing i did not expect: the interesting differences are not speed, they are scope. plugins that back up less finish faster, which makes a naive speed comparison actively misleading. happy to run a matchup on request if there is a pairing you want to see.
