Hi Hunters! 🎉 It's hard for us to hide the excitement of unveiling Backlight today. We have been working on it within closed doors with early access customers for more than 2 years. It is now time to open it to a broader audience! 👷 I have been working with @francois_valdy and @gregory_quinio for a decade now. Backlight is born from our pain when building multiple front-ends in previous lifes. - How to build consistent front-end experiences? - How to have accessibility built-in everywhere? - How to avoid re-creating the same thing multiple times? - How to make sure recruits use existing components? - How to keep quality and maintainability under control? ☝️ The answer is to build a Design System* 😰 But Design Systems are very complex to build and maintain. It's a team effort that involves Designers and Developers at every single step. Existing tools are just not embracing this collaboration requirement, and it's probably too expensive to start your own Design System. 🦸‍♀ This is where Backlight comes in! 🤗 Backlight embraces collaboration between Developers and Designers. 🧐 Reviewing HTML and CSS code only tells part of the story. Backlight speeds up every step of reviews by rendering components as a first-class citizen. 👩‍💻 Integrates into the Git workflow without requiring a command-line so Designers can contribute easily. 🚀 Backlight comes with several starter-kits to lower the cost of starting a design system. We have starter-kits or samples in React, Vue, Svelte, Web Components, and more. More are coming up! 📦 The release management is built-in. So you can release your Design System as an `npm` package in pretty much one click. 🔒 No lock-in; Backlight only use standard Web technologies, so you can take your design system out at any time and build it on your own. 🆓 We have a very generous free-tier where 3 users can collaborate on a Design System. Ideal for freelancers working on design systems for customers for example 👍 🎁 Just for Hunters 😸, we offer a promotion coupon of 50% for 1 year towards the PRO tier. Get it now with code: PH2021. 🤗 Thanks for reading. I hope to see you soon on our community discord. 🎥 I hope you enjoy the video. Shoutout to Pierrick on the team that work long hours to put that together 👍 (*) https://backlight.dev/mastery/wh...

Hi Hunters 😸 I first heard of Backlight a few months ago on a visio call with @georges_gomes. I was in the car on a family trip for the Christmas holidays. The meeting was so good that it continued at the McDonald's where I stopped to feed the kids 😄 Step by step, the product answered all the pain points we had when building extraordinary front-ends with developers and designers working together. For the first time, you have a solution that takes into account both developers and designers in the process of building and maintaining a design system. With remote work becoming the norm for front-end teams, a central point of collaboration for the design system is vital to unlocking maximum velocity and quality. They have design systems starter kits for pretty much any web technology. You could have your initial design system today! Give it a try by yourself: https://backlight.dev -Thibaud-

Thanks @tiboel, for your support 🙏 I will never forget that meeting in the middle of "happy meal" boxes. Everybody knows that I'm a McDonald's fan, so I really felt at home 😄

I have been following what those guys are doing since the early days, and the promise of Backlight completely sells me. As a product developer, keeping sync frontend developers and product designers is not an easy task. Especially when we have released our product and our designers need to validate our integrated components and design system. Thanks to Backlight for easing our product team collaboration at Qovery. Backlight is a must-have for all product-driven companies and teams. I recommend 💯
Georges Gomes
@romaric_philogene Thank you Romaric. Your support means a lot 👍
guilhem de vregille

Guilhem ROBERT
Congrats for the launch !!
Georges Gomes
@guilhem_robert2 Thanks Guilhem! Nice to see you here 🤗
Joren Broekema
Awesome product, built Simba design system in this and it was so refreshing to not have to set up a toolchain and just get started instantly. Docs & demos out of the box with both MDX and MDJS support as well, really cool!
Georges Gomes
@jorenb It's pretty amazing what Joren has done in a small timeframe. Check the Simba Design System here : https://backlight.dev/edit/5vtJt.... Web Components and Lion based for accessibility. Open-source 🎁
Paul Shuteyev
Great solution guys, congrats! :) glad to see more designer tools launching.
Georges Gomes
@paul_shuteyev Specially tools that finally embrace designers and developers as part of the same team and working together more closely - even in remote. This is very important in our vision of front-end work!
Paul Shuteyev
@georges_gomes wise words, indeed, for example I like how Adobe XD exports designs that are easy to follow for front-end devs. You did a great job!
