👋 Hi PH community, I’m Loïc, this is my very first PH launch, I'm both excited and scared about it 😅 I've been working on Azimutt 🧭 for more than a year now with two friends (Samir & Nicolas). We released it as Open Source. And now, it's ready to be shared with you and get your best feedback! Azimutt is a database tool helping developers, product managers, data analysts or anyone working with a database to understand it better. I started this project after trying all the available tools to help me navigate and understand the huge database we have at Doctolib, but sadly, none of them could handle our 600+ tables, neither technically nor visually. This initial frustration led to this tool with a very special approach, followed by more than a year of users feedback and a lot of iterations to make it so much better ❤️ To tell you a bit more on what is so special about it: 👉 Works well with any database at any size, especially real world ones with messy tables and columns 👉 Define all the layouts you need with the relevant tables and column 👉 Collaborate with your friends or share your project publicly 👉 Document your tables and columns, add sticky notes to layouts 👉 Seamlessly design your schema using our very intuitive DSL 👉 Analyze your schema to highlight issues and improvements 👉 And much more like finding a path between tables or scripting your own data analysis We already have very enthusiastic early adopters and hope to have your opinion on it. Do you love it too? Do you see improvements? Does it solve a problem you have? To celebrate this launch we offer you a 50% promo code for the next 6 months with the PRODUCTHUNT coupon ✨, only today! We also launched a free slack community (https://azimutt.app/slack) to discuss closely with our users about future evolutions of Azimutt but also more generally about database design and best practices. Join us 😊

Thanks @elec 🙏

Finally ! This product is a real pain solver. I won't have to sketch my databases on diagrams.net anymore. Thanks you so much. 🙏🏽
Irina Haupt
Yay, exciting! Congrats on the launch! Are there any requirements or limitations for the size or complexity of the databases that your product can handle?
Samir Bouaked
Hi @irina_haupt, thank you for your enthusiasm ❤️ ! As of now, we have successfully tested Azimutt with databases containing up to 1,500 tables. However, there is no strict limitation on the size or complexity of the databases our product can handle. In fact, Azimutt is specifically designed to make working with large and complex databases more manageable and efficient. We encourage you to try Azimutt with your database, regardless of its size, and we'd greatly appreciate any feedback you might have. If you encounter any challenges while using our tool with a particularly large database, please don't hesitate to reach out, as we are constantly working on improving Azimutt's performance and capabilities.

@sbouaked Awesome, thanks for your response! Excited to try it out and test your limits! 🚀

It is so pivotal to have a flight view on your DB structure. I'm puzzled no one made that before, and now I won't work anymore without such a capability at hand.
Loïc Knuchel
@timothe_delion Yeah. I'm too, very surprized why we are the only one doing this. In fact, I was so frustrated to not find anything like this that I had to code it myself. And now here I am ^^

Azimutt is a must-try! It’s incredibly intuitive and has made my life so much easier when trying to understand our big database at work. Well done ✨
Nicolas Aigreville
Such a good tool. It makes it easy to understand or explain data and to facilitate collaboration. You've gained a fan.
