8 free audio tools that run in your browser: convert (video to MP3 too), trim, join, boost, slow down, compress, text to speech and on-device Whisper transcription. No upload, no account, no limits. Open source (MIT), so the no-upload claim is checkable.

Hi Product Hunt š I'm Roman, I build AudioTools.dev.
It started with a small annoyance. Every time I needed to cut a voice memo or pull the sound out of a video, the top search results wanted me to upload the file to their server, wait in a queue, and sometimes sign up. For a 30-second clip that felt silly, and for an interview or a voice message from family it felt like a privacy problem.
So I built tools that do the work on your own device:
⢠Converter ā audio and video (MP4, MOV, MKV) to MP3, M4A, WAV or FLAC. Large files stream; several files come back as one ZIP
⢠Trimmer, Joiner, Volume Booster, Speed Changer (slow a song down to learn it), Compressor
⢠Voice to Text ā Private mode runs Whisper in the browser, so the recording is never sent anywhere
⢠Text to Speech with your browser's voices
⢠A small helper on the homepage: describe the task ("make this mp3 smaller", "slow down to 0.75") and it opens the right tool with the settings filled in
Under the hood: Web Audio API, WebAssembly and WebCodecs (via Mediabunny), Transformers.js for Whisper. Most tools keep working offline once the page is loaded. The code is MIT on GitHub, and the About page shows how to confirm in DevTools that nothing gets uploaded.
What it doesn't do yet: no mixing or overlaying tracks, no noise removal, and long transcriptions can be slow on older phones.
No ads, no paywall ā it's a side project I keep improving.
One question for you: which audio task do you still end up uploading files for? That's what I'd like to build next.
