Launching here Tuesday at 12:01am PT: Auction Bid Assistant a free tool that searches 8 auction platforms (the-saleroom, EasyLive, Bidspotter, Invaluable, NumisBids, iCollector, LiveAuctionWorld, and eBay) from one search box, plus free alerts that email you the moment a saved search matches eBay included, which I haven't found anywhere else doing.
Ahead of launch day, curious: if you buy or collect anything at auction art, coins, watches, cards, furniture, whatever how do you currently keep track of lots split across different platforms? Checking each site manually? Alerts from just one? Genuinely interested how people handle this today.
Follow the page and you'll get notified the second it's live Tuesday happy to answer anything before then.
Love that this covers so many platforms in one place. One thing I'd love to see is letting me filter saved searches by price range or category, so the email alerts only ping me when something actually fits what I'm hunting for.
@theshipper Its something I certainly can look at adding, I think the issue is as its auction based you could get a very low value item estimate listed that you may discard if you add the filter where you could possibly get it for a low value otherwise. There is a tradeoff, you can filter quite a lot of the search results once pulled in. I think the email alerts my mean you don't get shown something thats worth bidding on. open to thoughts and ideas but thats my worry with filtering the alerts.
@theshipper maybe giving an option which you can and don't have to add, so you can close down the alerts is possibly an answer. but like I say you could loose something thats much cheaper then you would otherwise have set the price at.
@theshipper I am also waiting on an ios app to be approved and will launch when that's in the store. Its great but waiting for approval takes a bit of time. so many things comming and always looking to add new platforms etc. Thanks for your thoughts.
@theshipper I have submitted updates to enable filtering on the alerts, but we need them to be approved will let you know when updated, hopefully a day or so max
searched a few categories i follow across the eight sites at once and it was surprisingly useful seeing everything in one list
@oakes_fei Thank you Thora, yes it will be a game changer for anyone who searches across multiple platforms, the IOS app will be out soon, just waiting on review which is a bit slow, but that will be part free part paid but works as well. Its supprising how quick the results all come in. What is helpful is the ability to mark the intersting items and then export the pdf, also make other lots on the platforms direct and export something the platforms don't allow you to do, yes favorite them but not export the list, I have been in the industry for 15 years and nothing else exists that does this. Thanks for looking and glad it maybe of help.
