The problem that drove this: Every AI detector I tried gave me a single probability score with zero explanation. "73% AI." Cool — but what does that mean? Which part? Which signal? I couldn't audit it, I couldn't trust it, and adversarial text that tweaked a few words could fool it completely. What AGD does differently: AGD runs 27 fully independent forensic techniques across four modalities: 🖼️ Images (15 techniques): Pixel-level ELA, JPEG Ghost, SRM noise residuals, DCT block analysis, FFT radial spectrum, chromatic aberration, bit-plane entropy, and more — every signal a forensic examiner would check manually. 📝 Text (12 techniques): RoBERTa token perplexity, sentence-level scoring, burstiness profiling, Zipf's law deviation, AI transition phrase density, positional entropy variation, and more. 🎵 Audio: MFCC, LFCC, Spectral Flux, ZCR — catches TTS vocoder artifacts. 🎬 Video: Temporal frame diff, motion consistency, frequency stability — catches diffusion-generated frames. The key design principle: if an adversarial attack fools one detector, 26 others are still running. And every technique returns a named, interpretable score — so a human auditor can read the full anomaly map, not just a number. The architecture: A FastAPI orchestrator routes inputs by MIME type to specialized modules, each producing a weighted ensemble score with confidence calibration. Borderline samples are flagged as uncertain rather than forced into a binary. Benchmark results: Evaluated on 500+ samples from HC3 (text) and CIFAKE (images) — AGD outperforms GPTZero, ZeroGPT, and DetectGPT on F1, with a lower false positive rate and full interpretability that none of them offer. It's fully open-source (MIT). Self-hostable via Docker Compose in one command.
