Artclick Gallery Lite is a free, lightweight WordPress plugin for responsive image galleries with a modern lightbox and a built-in slider. Pure vanilla JavaScript — no jQuery.
The no-jQuery approach is a refreshing choice these days, especially for a gallery plugin where load times really matter. Curious how it handles lazy loading on the slider out of the box.
Would love to see native lazy loading or a masonry layout option added in a future update. Galleries with mixed image sizes look a bit rigid right now, and that would make it feel much more polished for photographers showing varied work.
Finally gave it a spin on a test blog and the no-jQuery setup made page weight noticeably lighter. The lightbox transitions feel snappy too, which I wasn't expecting from a free plugin.
Finally a gallery plugin that doesn't drag jQuery along for the ride. The lightbox feels snappy on mobile and the slider setup took maybe two minutes. Solid little tool.
