The app simulates infrared films — 720nm black-and-white after Kodak HIE, Aerochrome false color — from ordinary photos. The engine reads the scene: chlorophyll, sky, tungsten. On device, no tracking. Shot on iPhone, developed in the app.







We love experimenting with infrared photography and film, and have been doing so for years with modified cameras. Infrared sees using different physics. Chlorophyll reflects near-infrared so hard that foliage turns white or red — the Wood effect, first photographed in 1910. The daytime sky scatters almost no NIR and goes near-black.
ARK Infrared is a procedural engine that reads material evidence out of every pixel: chlorophyll, sky, tungsten light — and re-photographs the scene.

— AERO after Aerochrome
— NIGHT — a fiction
— MOON — day for night
The wavelength slider runs 590–850nm; in Aerochrome mode it walks the Wratten filter ladder from the original Kodak datasheet. Fun fact: aerochrome was engineered in wartime to expose painted camouflage.
Everything runs on device — no account, no tracking, nothing leaves the phone.
