Hi everyone, I'm Yacine, a pentester, and I built Arena solo over the past months.
The problem: most offensive security platforms drop beginners into the deep end. You sign up, you're handed a machine, and if you don't already know what to do, you leave. I remember that feeling from when I started, and I've watched friends bounce off the same wall.
So Arena starts differently. Your first real exploit takes a few minutes, guided step by step, right in your browser, nothing to install. You change an ID in a URL, you read someone else's order, you find the flag, you submit it. Once you've felt that, the platform opens up into the real thing: downloadable labs (a full Active Directory kill chain, web, pivoting), ranks, seasons, and duels against other players. It plays like a game, but the vulnerabilities are real.
How it evolved: I spent a long time building features, ranks, houses, a PvP system, before realizing the hard part wasn't the content. It was the first five minutes. So the last weeks went entirely into that: the guided first challenge, clearer onboarding, honest measurement of where people drop off.
It's live, it's free, and it's early. I'd rather hear what's broken than what's nice. If you try it, tell me exactly where you got stuck. That's the feedback that moves it forward.
