Hey everyone ð â Khiem here, maker of **Are You Productive**.
I built this because I was tired of two things:
1. Losing 3 hours a day to TikTok and YouTube without noticing ð
2. Every "solution" wanting my email, my data, and a monthly subscription to tell me what I already half-knew.
Existing trackers like RescueTime are heavy, cloud-based, and quietly upload everything you do. I wanted the opposite â something that just sits quietly on my Mac, tells me the truth about my day, and actively shuts the distraction down when I ask it to. So I built it. ð ïļ
**What makes it different:**
- ðŠķ ~12 MB install, <1% CPU â native Apple Silicon (Tauri + Rust)
- ð 100% local â no account, no cloud, no telemetry, ever. It only reads the front-most window title â never your keystrokes or screen.
- ð Focus Mode actually *blocks* â closes distracting apps and overlays a nudge on distracting sites the moment you open them
- ð Honest hour-by-hour insights so you can see exactly where the day went
- ð§ Especially helpful if you have ADHD time blindness â the feedback loop is the whole game
And it's **completely free**. ð No paid tier, no "pro" features locked away. Windows 11 version is in the works.
Would love your honest feedback â what's the first distraction you'd block? ð
(P.S. shoutout to the Hunters and early testers who helped shape this ð)
