I am the maker behind Are We Even. I built this because I was tired of being "that friend" who had to nag everyone to download an app, create an account, and watch ads just to split a cabin trip. It felt broken. So, I set myself a challenge: Build a better, fairer alternative in just 9 days. The result is Are We Even, and here is how it's different: -- One Person Pays, Everyone Plays: Only the group creator needs a subscription (or an $8 Event Pass). Everyone else joins for free with zero ads. -- Debt Shuffling: We use a debt-minimization algorithm to turn a messy web of 50 expenses into just 2 or 3 simple payments. -- Fairness First: I added an Income Equality Calculator for couples and roommates who want to split costs based on earnings, not just 50/50. -- Receipt Scanning: Snap a photo, assign items to specific people (even if "Sarah had the lobster"), and you're done. I’m launching this today to fix the awkwardness of money with friends. I’d love to hear what you think about the Income-Based Splitting logic—is this something you'd use with your partner? Thanks for checking it out! 🚀
