This is awesome: Don Draper's apartment

@andrewett you've made my day with this 💙
Kaspar Helfrich
@andrewett We completed 50'000'000 sqft (and counting) so we decided to celebrate by giving away 2000 free 3D models. simply use the following link to upload plans: http://goo.gl/VtEk0F

This has arguably the best 3D floorpan viewer I've ever seen. I just wish it was software that I could use myself instead of a service.

@may_or_maynot - @kaspar_helfrich, are there plans for this to be a future iteration?
Kaspar Helfrich
@andrewett @may_or_maynot You actually can use your self as well. With the pro-license (free for the first month) you can get your own models online and bake (render) them directly in our cloud. The Draper house was done like this as well. Happy to give you a tour through these functions
Joseph
@kaspar_helfrich @andrewett You might want to make this more clear... I don't see this anywhere on your website (specifically pricing, where I'd expect to see it)
Kaspar Helfrich
@may_or_maynot @andrewett Right, the 3D artist feature set is still under development, so we do not yet push this yet. Still, early adopters are very welcome :)
Andrew Ettinger
What are the most common use cases for this?
Kaspar Helfrich
@andrewett Currently the primary use case lays in the sales process of real estate development. The interactive tool helps the sales person to customise the real estate object (floors, walls, kitchen, baths,...) together with the client and then send the finished model home to the client. It works a bit like when you go buy a tesla in the shop :) An other use case is real estate marketing. We are integrated with a couple of Real Estate Portals. Our 24h turn around helps here massively. Then we are used by interior designers and furniture shops to help customers understand suggested concepts. Our virtual reality support (card board, oculus) is an important feature here. And finally the viewer is more and more used on architecture blogs to help display architecture. Check archdaily or curbed for some crazy buildings in 3D

@kaspar_helfrich @andrewett adding to Kaspar's answer: Here it is being used on a real estate portal: http://www.newhome.ch/de/kaufen/... And here are a collection of posts that Arch Daily have made, using Archilogic to give interactive experiences of buildings they've featured: http://www.archdaily.com/tag/arc...

I tested a friend's commercial property and was really impressed by the speed of production. Would have loved to have this when I moved into my apartment.

Very cool. Just signed up and will send through house plans soon.

@kaspar_helfrich super interesting keen on using this for a project. A few questions, is there a way to demo what furniture etc is available and can custom furniture be designed/imported? Also, can videos of the 3d layout be exported to normal formats etc MOV etc? Finally, is a DWG sufficient for you to make a plan and is it possible to check this ahead of a purchase?
Kaspar Helfrich
@jasondainter Hi Jason, thank you for the great questions. We have a furniture library of about a 1000 optimised pieces at the moment. There are new pieces added all the time. You can upload your own models as obj's (inc. mtl and textures). This can be furniture pieces or architecture or just random things, like the model of the millenium falcon we published over christmas. We currently allow for OBJ and DWG export. But we are happy to help with our experience in screen capturing (how to have full frame rate, what tool work best, etc...) We are actually mostly working of pdfs or jpgs of plans - basically photographs. Since quite some time we build plan recognition algorithms - basically OCR for floor plans. As this is still work in progress every model is checked manually and completed if necessary. You cant check before purchase but we are happy to refund if your not happy with the result.

Very cool! I was hoping you could upload a 2D floorplan and have it be turned into a 3D model!

Gonna upload my new condo's floorplan, which is currently under construction, and get a jump on figuring out where all my shit's gonna go! Lol.
Kaspar Helfrich
@joshuapinter That is exactly what we offer, among other functions :) Looking forward to 3Dify your condo. Thanks!
