Dragos Bulugean
Hey everyone šŸ‘‹, I'm Dragos the founder... 🫠, a bit nostalgic while I write this, but here's the story of Archbee. šŸ’” Archbee v0: 2018, stuck in a hotel room in Frankfurt... it was raining and I decided to code a software diagramming tool for architects. Scrapped the product after a few months of getting no traction. šŸ’” Archbee v1: Restarted in early 2019 with the idea for an internal docs tool for eng. teams that would include API docs, markdown, diagrams, changelogs, and GitHub integration after realizing all the tools out there (Google Docs, Confluence, Notion) were built for anybody, but not tech people. The product was getting some customers organically but did not show great traction either. šŸ’” Archbee v2: This version was just an improved, better-looking, less buggy version of V1. Launched it on ProductHunt in 2020 and it got to #1. However, most of the traction was coming from a wimpy feature: publishing docs on customers' domains. Talking to customers, we realized there are still no great tools for building public product & developer docs for folks who don't want the DIY approach. Basically, no way of onboarding and activating your tech audiences without spending a ton of energy on docs tech. The tools (diagrams, API refs, changelogs, markdown) cooked for the internal use-case, were actually a lot more useful for the public-facing use-case where the pain was obvious. Pushing on this edge and armed with amazing customer feedback, we were able to secure our spot in YCombinator S21 and our first rounds of funding. Today we present to you Archbee V3, your go-to documentation tool for onboarding and activating technical audiences into your products. Just a few examples from amazing companies (SaaS, web3, hardware and more) that trust archbee for their documentation: - https://docs.onarchipelago.com/ - https://hub.datree.io/ - https://docs.charthop.com/ - https://whitepaper.metabrands.io/ - https://docs.spren.com/ - https://docs.sizzy.co/ - https://learn.frase.io/ - https://docs.procesio.com/ - see 200+ more here: https://www.archbee.io/built-wit... We're building a product documentation platform. "The Webflow" of documentation: write and hit publish. V3 has a ton of new features, but here are the most important: šŸ“ a new user interface with dark mode for you and your users šŸ“ create in-app documentation with our embeddable widget šŸ“ reusable variables and reusable content snippets šŸ“ sync content with GitHub using markdown šŸ“ user authentication with passwords, guest accounts, magic links or JWT šŸ“ up to date documentation with doc verifications šŸ“ native OpenAPI import & integration šŸ“ documentation versioning & snapshots šŸ“ knowledge graphs let you see how your knowledge is interconnected šŸ“ PDF rendering Archbee provides you with everything you need to build amazing docs for your users/customers to activate and get the full value of your product. That directly translates to: šŸ“ more user activations for your product => more revenue šŸ“ more time for your team to focus on what matters: great content, not creating documentation technology I'm sure this isn't the end of the development of Archbee as a product. This is why we'd love to get your input for the next stage. Try it out today at www.archbee.com. We're offering a 15% discount FOREVER — enter the discount code product-hunt-2022 if you subscribe until the end of the month. GOGO GO! Oh, yea... The team at Archbee ā¤ļø ProductHunt.

The editor has been improved a lot the past two months - good job! I have tested several competitors and what makes your tool more user-friendly is the editor combined with the overview on the left. It makes browsing through documentation a breeze for users and editors. Since I use a lot of pictures and GIFs to show flows, I would be very interested in a more intuitive way to format pictures and align them with text. Vertical split is too restrictive and leaves too much room if I use several pictures. Microsoft Word does a lot right in this regard. Drag and drop to change placement of pictures is also sorely missed.
