Capture and isolate audio from multiple macOS apps simultaneously. AppAudio runs locally in your menu bar, letting you isolate apps like Safari and Zoom independently, transcribe the audio with on-device AI, and save the files with complete privacy.

Hi Product Hunt! ⚉ I’m Rajesh, the maker of AppAudio.
I built this app to solve a massive headache on macOS: capturing system audio. If you’ve ever tried to record a Zoom meeting, grab audio from a Safari tab, or isolate the sound of a specific app without recording your entire system audio, you know it usually requires installing heavy, expensive virtual audio drivers.
I wanted to build something native, lightweight, and completely private that lived quietly in the menu bar.
Here is what makes AppAudio powerful:
🎙️ Multi-App Isolation: Select multiple running apps and record their audio simultaneously. It completely isolates the audio streams, so you only record exactly what you want (no annoying notification pings from other apps). 📝 Local AI Transcription: Transcribe the captured audio using on-device AI models. No cloud processing, completely offline. ⚡ Metal GPU Accelerated: The transcription engine is fully optimized for Apple Silicon (Metal/GPU), meaning it is blazing fast and doesn't drain your battery. 🪶 Ultra-Lightweight: The app has a tiny disk footprint and consumes minimal memory while running silently in the background. 💾 Save & Export: Save the isolated audio files directly to your Mac. 🎧 Mic Mixing: Need to narrate? You can mix your own microphone input seamlessly into the app recording. 🔒 100% Private: Because it uses native macOS frameworks (ScreenCaptureKit) and local AI models, none of your audio ever leaves your computer.
Getting this through Apple's strict Sandbox review process was an absolute marathon 🫣(they are incredibly strict about audio capture!), but I'm thrilled it's finally live on the Mac App Store.
I'm a solo dev with zero social media presence, so 'm relying entirely on the Product Hunt community today! To say thanks, here are 5 promo codes for the Mac App Store.-:-

I'd love to hear your feedback, feature requests, or any questions you have about building native macOS audio tools!
