apk-medit is an open-source CLI tool for searching and patching memory in Android apps — no root privileges, no Android NDK required. Since it works without root, you can test memory manipulation even on apps with root detection enabled. Built in Go, it runs on any debuggable APK and provides an interactive prompt with commands like find, filter, patch, and memory dump. Presented at Black Hat USA 2020 Arsenal and CODE BLUE 2020.

Hi Product Hunt! I'm the creator of apk-medit. I built this tool because memory modification is one of the most common cheating methods in mobile games, and it's a critical item in security testing. Tools like GameGuardian exist for cheaters, but there was no good option for security engineers who need to test on non-rooted devices from the command line. apk-medit solves this: just push the binary to your Android device, and you get an interactive prompt to search, filter, and patch memory values — all without root or the Android NDK.
