I’m Andrew, a proud dad and IT geek who’s thrilled (and slightly nervous!) to finally introduce you to my little passion project: AnyTales, Bedtime Stories for Kids! 🌙✨
As the dad of a wonderfully energetic 7-year-old daughter, I’ve faced the universal bedtime challenge more than once. Some evenings she was bouncing off the walls, and nothing seemed to calm her down. Not white noise, not soft music… until we discovered the magic of storytelling. 🧚♀️📖
After exploring numerous apps and services, I quickly realized many of them relied heavily on AI-generated content or unfamiliar tales. Call me nostalgic, but I wanted my daughter to fall asleep to the classic, timeless stories I loved as a kid. Stories filled with warmth, wisdom, and a bit of magic. But finding these beloved classics in one cozy, calming, and kid-friendly place proved challenging.
So I decided to build it myself. 🚀
The trickiest part was figuring out the content rights. Luckily, most classic tales enter the public domain 70 to 100 years after the author’s passing. That made it safe and ethical to share the enchanting stories we all grew up with.
And that’s how AnyTales was born. I’ve created both a comforting website (https://anytales.com) and a cozy iOS app (https://apps.apple.com/us/app/bedtime-stories-anytales/id6739168587), lovingly curated and designed with soothing narration and gentle background sounds. My daughter was my first beta tester (and a tough critic!), and soon friends and family joined in with great feedback and suggestions.
Today, I’m really excited (and still a little nervous!) to share AnyTales with you, the amazing Product Hunt community. 🎉 Your thoughts, feedback, and suggestions would mean the world to me.
