Unlike other apps with limited, paid catalogs and poor audio quality, AnyMusicQuiz lets you use your own music! It connects to Spotify, YouTube Music, Tidal, Deezer or whatever... seamlessly hiding the track info (even system notifications) Play on your phone or cast to smart speakers. No more awkward "game master" role pressing the "next button", saying that we're right or wrong (been there, done that with my kids)

Hi everyone! ๐ Iโm Bertrand, a French Android developer, and the maker behind AnyMusicQuiz.
The initial idea for this app came from family music games (often during dinner).
Whenever I played Disney blind tests with my daughters, I got stuck being the "game master."
To guess along with them (before they shout "FROZEN!" at the first note...), I had to awkwardly hold a sheet of paper over my phone or flip my phone to the table... to skip tracks without seeing the answers. Even system notifications were betraying me, and my kids said I was cheating!
I looked at the Play Store, and most trivia apps have limited catalogs, require payments for more songs, have terrible audio quality, and don't play nice with smart speakers. (I'm a Spotify connected device addict).
I wanted something customized for my needs. Hereโs what AnyMusicQuiz does differently:
- ๐ง Play with your favorite player: It works with Spotify, YouTube Music, Deezer, Tidal, Qobuz, etc. You play the music; the app detects it and hides the info. No extra cost. You already pay for your music, you don't want to pay again for a music quiz over it.
- ๐ซ Spoiler Protection: It blurs all the content, and also hides system notifications so nobody accidentally sees the current track.
- ๐๏ธ Spontaneous Play: Have friends over, play music on your smart speaker, open the app, and instantly start guessing without knowing what's next (without having to pick a playlist, stop the music, and break the party vibe).
- โ Bonus for the geeks (Wear OS): Because I try to keep my phone away from the dinner table, I built a companion app for Wear OS. You can control the playback and secretly check the answers right from your wrist.
According to me, playing it is a fun way to train your brain, test your memory on random playlists, or with your own "Liked Songs" (spoiler: I have 300 songs on repeat on Spotify and still can't name half the artists).
Initially, the app just hid the title so I could skip tracks blindly (my core problem!). But I evolved it into a full game where you can type or use voice recognition to guess. (Pro tip: Voice recognition is quite hazardous when you are French and trying to pronounce English song titles ๐ ).
I deployed the app on Google Play in July 2026... and Iโve been amazed by the (not so impressive) engagement... Around 100 players have already guessed almost 5,000 songs! Even better, the competition is fierce: I've recorded roughly 800 perfect guesses (which means finding the track in under 5 seconds... which leads to a dedicated animation I worked on for... about 2 nights).
Iโd love to hear your feedback, whether you're a parent trying to survive family game night, or just a music lover testing your reflexes in the subway. I love iterating with users. A Reddit user recently asked to make the notification-hiding feature free, and I pushed an update that same evening!
