For a lot of refugees the smartphone is a very important tool that helps them on their journey to the country that they want to reach. Wether it's about using Google Maps to find your way around or keeping in touch with other refugees or family. On the 13th of January the German government released this App "Ankommen" (meaning "arriving" in German) in five languages of English, Arabic, German, French and Farsi. The app is supposed to help new asylum seekers to integrate better and more smoothly. From the official website: "YOU HAVE A LONG AND DIFFICULT JOURNEY BEHIND YOU. But now you have arrived in Germany. However “arrived” in German means a lot more: Become part of society and join in. This app will help you to do this. Understanding how Germany works is the basis for getting on well together. Everyone has the same obligations and has to obey German laws. But everyone has the same rights too. In this app you get to know the rules of this country and learn what you have to pay attention to. Try it out! And start right now …" I hope this can be an example for other countries.
