The Alternate Clouds origin story: we didn't set out to build a cloud. We were building something else, and the hyperscalers kept getting in the way — too expensive, nickel-and-dimed at every turn, and pricing so unpredictable we couldn't tell what a month would cost until the bill showed up.
So we went back down the stack to the infrastructure layer and built the thing we actually wanted: a DePIN abstraction layer that rolls many DePINs under one roof and makes the cost predictable and the deploy dead simple. We liked it enough that we turned it into Alternate Clouds.

@mavisakalyan @captainsouthpaw Good luck with the launch! I'm glad to have had the opportunity to try this out in early access.
Honestly the DePIN angle is cool, but one thing that would help a lot is showing a live cost comparison calculator right in the dashboard. Like, basically let me input my expected usage and see exactly what I'd pay on Alternate Clouds vs Vercel vs Railway side by side. Right now I have to guess whether the savings are actually real for my specific workload, and that kind of transparency would make the switch feel a lot less risky.

Deployed a small agent on the trial and was surprised how painless the setup was compared to wrangling AWS configs. The pricing dashboard actually makes sense at a glance, which feels rare.

@mavisakalyan great product, i haven't used a platform which makes it this easy to spin up an instance of my own choice. Pricing seems very reasonable as well, helps a lot to budget out all the agentic costs :D
