Hi ProductHunt, I'm @lanedirt, the creator of AliasVault. Thanks for checking out AliasVault! 🎉 Above, you'll find a video review and tutorial created by one of AliasVault's amazing users (not affiliated with the project), which I’m thrilled to share with you. Shortly about me: I’m a software engineer by trade and a big privacy enthusiast. Last year, I started building AliasVault to help people protect their personal data on the internet. It’s fully open-source, end-to-end encrypted, and even supports self-hosting for those who want full control. Why AliasVault? Unlike traditional password managers that focus primarily on storing passwords, AliasVault generates a unique identity (first name, last name, birthdate), password and email address for every service you use. All this with no external dependencies. All your data, including passwords and received emails, are stored fully encrypted in AliasVault. No one but you can access your data. Your data, including passwords and received emails, is fully end-to-end encrypted in AliasVault, ensuring that only you can access it. The internet has become a web of trackers, with many websites and companies sharing your data without consent. Signing up on multiple websites with the same email address often results in “shadow profiles” being created of you. AliasVault combats and gives you control over what you're sharing with who. Development: AliasVault is currently in beta, and the cloud version is entirely free to use. I’m excited to hear your feedback and ideas! Over the coming months, I plan to add more features, improve the platform, and roll out browser extensions for easier auto-fill functionality. For technical readers, feel free to explore the GitHub repo: https://github.com/lanedirt/AliasVault. I'd appreciate it a lot if you would try out AliasVault and let me know what you think. Are you using a password manager already? What do you think of the features AliasVault provides and the basic premise? Do you have any ideas for how AliasVault could improve? I'm happy to answer all questions and look foward to your feedback. Thank you very much for your time!
