AlgoOCR started as AutoPanchayat, a tool I built for Gram Panchayat offices. Their records were on paper: registers, forms and tables, mostly in Marathi. OCR could read the text, but the tables broke, the layout disappeared, and someone still had to retype the page.
So AlgoOCR focuses on the part OCR skips, which is rebuilding the document:
• Word files that look like the original page, with fonts, indents, borders and table widths kept
• Excel with real cells, and numbers stored as numbers
• Over 300 languages, including right-to-left and Indic scripts, with Hindi and Marathi available in Unicode or legacy Kruti Dev / Surekh fonts
• Translation of the output into 27 more languages in the same step, and clean Markdown if your text is headed into AI tools
