Fight fake news with cryptography & human nature

Aletheia uses cryptography to leverage networks of human trust in journalists & institutions to help link those people to their work and change our expectations of what constitutes journalism: if it’s not verified, it’s just some stranger on the internet.

What do you think? …

Daniel Quinn
I wrote this because I see where the future of so-called "deep fakes" is taking us and I think we need to be prepared. The proposed solutions: AI & blockchain aren't fit for purpose and lack the simplicity of a system like this one, and so as no one else had written something like this, I put in the work. It took about a year to work out all the kinks, but the biggest hurdle so far has been getting non-technical people to "get it". Aletheia was designed to be a background, passive "glue" to the internet, not something actively used by the public, but I believe this design decision has made the software less approachable by "non-nerds". Regardless, I'm proud of this project. The architecture is solid, the premise sound. I'm posting it here for exposure to see if there are others out there who might see the value there. I'm not in this for the money (the code is Freely licensed). I just want to reduce the suck on the internet ;-)
