I was inspired to build ÄKÄ after I kept reaching Claude Code’s rate limits and looking into Local LLMs. It then turned into more of a research project for Local Models than it was about the work on my own personal projects. ÄKÄ is meant to give users that are new (or experienced) in the Local Models a refreshing way to plug in their own tools and build their own projects without having the hassle of setting up nor having to worry about the Terminal. At first, it started as my preference to not work in the Terminal, then it turned into something that I thought others similar to me would love to use. So I made everything simple as well as agnostic so new and experienced users can just plug in their tools then get to work.
