She's a photographer, and like most people running their own business, she has a lot of expenses and almost no time to file them. Receipts piled up in bags, in the car, wherever they landed. Then tax time came around and the same thing happened every year: some receipts had gone missing, some had faded to blank thermal paper, and expenses from months earlier were simply forgotten. Whatever survived, she still had to type into a spreadsheet by hand. Watching that, it struck me the problem wasn't organisation — it was timing. All of the work landed at the worst possible moment, months after the purchase, once the evidence had degraded and the context was gone. So Aido moves that work to the moment of purchase and makes it take seconds: • Snap the receipt and it's done — AI pulls the vendor, date, total, tax and every line item in about 3 seconds. The original photo is kept as your evidence, so it doesn't matter if the ink fades later. • Business vs personal — line items include partial business-use %, because a hardware run is rarely 100% one or the other. • Tax time becomes an export, not a project — everything is already sorted by tax/financial year. Your accountant gets a CSV or PDF, or a Xero-ready Bills import mapped to your own chart of accounts. • Your data stays on your device — no cloud database of your spending. Images go to the AI for extraction only, not retained, not used for training. It currently supports AU, NZ, UK, US and CA, with more regions to come, each with the right tax rules, labels and tax-year boundaries.
