Did you know OpenAI staff can under certain circumstances read your ChatGPT conversations? And chats are stored on their servers for thirty days? We made a free Chrome extension that helps redact sensitive info from your prompts, 100% locally. NO APIs!
Wow, this is a game-changer! 🚀 Redacting sensitive info locally is a clever move, especially with privacy concerns around. Kudos to @andrew_gao1 for shipping this! Any plans for an MVP for mobile too? It could really help users stay safe on the go!

Great to see innovation like this coming from the community! 🌟 Redacting sensitive info is definitely a must in this era of data privacy concerns. Kudos to you, @andrew_gao1, for launching a Chrome extension that puts the control back in users' hands. Love the idea of keeping everything local without the need for external APIs – that's some solid commitment to privacy! Are there any plans to add more features in future updates? Can't wait to see how this project grows on PH!
Great initiative, @andrew_gao1! Privacy is key, and your Chrome extension sounds like a solid MVP for keeping our chats secure. Curious to see how it performs in beta! Does it also work with other browsers? Upvote for sure!
Hey Andrew,
I'm wondering about the detection capabilities.
How does the extension identify potentially sensitive information? Do you have plans to expand beyond Chrome to other browsers?
Congrats on the launch!
Wow, this is a game-changer! Love that you're tackling privacy head-on with this Chrome extension. Redacting sensitive info locally is a big win for user security. I mean, who wants to risk their sensitive chats being read by anyone else, right? Shoutout to @andrew_gao1 for launching such a thoughtful tool! Keep up the great work! Can't wait to see how this tool evolves. 💡 What's next on the roadmap? #PrivacyMatters #ProductHunt

So you're saying there's already a privacy issue with chats on servers and now we need another extension to fix that, isn't there a better way to address the root problem, or are we just adding more layers to a flawed system 🤔?

Saw this new Chrome extension while browsing, gotta say it's kinda creepy that chats are saved at all, but will this really stop OpenAI from seeing everything, and is it actually safe if it's not using APIs, like who's verifying that? What if we need to clean up older conversations too, that'd be super useful, just a thought
