I built AI Chat Exporter because I wanted a simple way to keep and reuse my AI conversations without being locked into a particular AI platform. There are already quite a few alternatives, but most didn't meet my needs. Some didn't support exporting conversations as images or PDFs, while others offered those features by processing the conversation on their servers. I wasn't comfortable sending my private AI conversations to another service just to export them. So I built AI Chat Exporter as an open-source, privacy-focused alternative. The processing happens locally in your browser, with no account, no cloud processing, and no need to send your conversations to a third-party server. It supports ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Copilot, Perplexity, DeepSeek, Qwen, Meta AI and more, with exports to Markdown, JSON, HTML, PDF, Word and PNG. I'd particularly like feedback on platform compatibility and export formatting. AI websites change frequently, so maintaining reliable exports across them is an ongoing challenge. The project is completely open source, so you're welcome to inspect the code, report issues or contribute.
