AgentBreakWatch tracks release velocity, breaking changes, and MCP tools/list schema drift across 258 production AI Agent SDKs and Model Context Protocol servers on npm and PyPI. Paste your package.json, requirements.txt, pyproject.toml, ormcp.json to spot archived servers and breaking upgrades in 5 seconds, or query our free MCP server directly from Cursor and Claude Code.

Hey Product Hunt! I built AgentBreakWatch after watching production AI agents break on Monday mornings without a single build or type error.
Why does this keep happening?
1. Extreme release velocity: Across the 258 AI Agent SDKs and Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers we track on npm and PyPI (32 Agent SDKs and 226 MCP servers), 116 shipped a new release in the past 7 days alone, including 6 major version jumps (@mistralai/mistralai v3, @nexus2520/bitbucket-mcp-server v4, pi-mcp-adapter v7, @tanstack/ai-mcp v1, @mcpjam/sdk v10, and openapi-mcp-generator v5) plus the official @modelcontextprotocol/server and @modelcontextprotocol/client v2.4.0 split.
2. Silent MCP schema drift: Most developer and production .mcp.json configs use unpinned "npx -y @org/mcp-server@latest" entries. When an upstream server renames a tool parameter in tools/list, changes required headers, or migrates from SSE to Streamable HTTP, your agent fails at runtime without a compile error. Currently, 96 of the 258 tracked packages (37%) carry high schema-drift risk.
3. Archived reference servers: Several original @modelcontextprotocol/server-* packages (like server-github, server-puppeteer, and server-slack) are now frozen or archived while still sitting inside thousands of active agent configs.
What is 100% free:
- Full Compatibility & Drift Catalog: https://agentbreakwatch.com (all 258 package pages with release cadence, risk scores, and migration notes)
- 5-Second Stack Config Checker: https://agentbreakwatch.com/check (paste your package.json, requirements.txt, pyproject.toml, or .mcp.json to flag archived servers, unpinned npx entries, and breaking upgrades)
- October 2026 Volatility & Drift Report: https://agentbreakwatch.com/drif... (full replacement matrix for archived reference MCP servers)
- Standalone MCP Server for Cursor & Claude Code: run "npx -y agentbreakwatch-mcp" or connect to https://agentbreakwatch.com/api/mcp to let your coding agent audit your stack before upgrading dependencies.
How paid alerts work:
- Subscribe to free weekly breaking-change digests on any package page, or upgrade to Indie ($9/mo) or Team ($29/mo) for instant real-time webhook, Slack, and email alerts the moment a package in your stack ships a breaking release or tools/list schema change.
I would love your feedback on the stack checker and any additional MCP servers or Agent SDKs you want added to the live tracker!
