Hi everyone! I’m the creator of Acquacotta.
I’ve been a Pomodoro practitioner for over two decades—using it to stay focused through roles ranging from engineering at NASA to leadership at Red Hat. But I always had a problem: Data Silos. Most productivity apps are "black boxes." You put your time in, but getting your history out in a meaningful way is a nightmare. I got tired of "renting" my own focus data from SaaS companies.
I built Acquacotta to be a professional-grade "Anti-SaaS" system:
- The Database is Yours: It logs every session to your personal Google Sheet in real-time. You own the infrastructure.
- Purely Open Source: No "Pro" tiers, no subscriptions—ever.
- Acoustic Anchoring: Includes the "60 Minutes" style ticking sound that acts as a Pavlovian trigger for flow.
- Sustainability: Built-in "Daily Goals" to help you find your "Goldilocks zone" and avoid burnout.
I would love your feedback on three things:
- The Sheets Integration: Does having your raw data in a spreadsheet change how you analyze your work?
- The Acoustic Focus: Does the ticking help your "time blindness," or do you prefer silence?
- Features: What’s the one "Power User" metric you’ve always wanted to track but couldn't?
I'll be here all day to answer questions. Thanks for checking it out!
