I am building "Abled Like Me" because I kept running into the same problem: when you or someone you love needs assistive technology, the information is scattered across outdated documents, institutional websites, and word-of-mouth in Facebook groups. Often those spaces aren't accessible with assistive technologies. And there's no single place that's actually built for the people using it. At Abled Like Me, accessibility isn't a feature — it's the foundation. Every component is built to WCAG 2.2 Level AA. Full keyboard navigation, screen reader support, high-contrast mode, reduced motion. It felt wrong to build a platform for the disability community that the disability community couldn't actually use. A few things I'd love your input on: 1. What's the most frustrating gap you've hit when looking for disability or AT resources? 2. Are there organizations or tools you'd want to see listed? 3. If you're a screen reader or AAC user, I'd especially love to hear how the experience feels. This is early, and the community side (forums, profiles, peer support) is in development.
