Why pay full price for frontier AI models? This insider guide lists 50 live, verified, OpenAI-compatible API providers that legally resell access to Claude, GPT, Gemini, and DeepSeek at a fraction of the cost. Includes direct base URLs, pricing per 1M tokens, and reliability ratings. Drop-in replacement for your stack!

Hi Product Hunt! 👋
I built this guide because I got completely tired of watching my project margins get eaten alive by official LLM API pricing. Why pay full retail price for Claude or GPT models when verified gateways offer the exact same models at 70–96% off?
This is a curated, no-nonsense list of 50 live, OpenAI-compatible API providers that act as direct, drop-in replacements for your existing setup.
Here is exactly what you are getting inside:
Verified Price Comparisons: Clear breakdown of pricing per 1M tokens along with the exact percentage saved versus official rates.
Reliability Metrics: Star ratings to help you choose providers that actually deliver high uptime.
Direct Base URLs: Quick access to gateway endpoints so you can switch them out seamlessly.
Zero-Refactor Code: Includes a clean Python quick-start snippet so you can swap your keys and base URLs without changing your core application logic.
To celebrate the launch, I’ve left an exclusive discount active for the community, just use code HUNTER at checkout on the API Cost Optimizer landing page.
Thank you!
finally grabbed a copy and the reliability ratings alone are worth it, plus the base URLs made swapping providers take minutes instead of hours
@fadimeutkt That's exactly the use case I built this for — provider swaps should be a one-line config change, not a half-day of digging. Glad the base URLs and reliability ratings made it that fast for you!
The base URLs and token pricing alone saved me an hour of digging, and I had Claude running through a cheaper endpoint within minutes. Wish the reliability ratings had a bit more methodology behind them, but for the price it's a no-brainer.
@madanoglus4557 Thanks so much for sharing this, Sibel! Really glad the base URLs and pricing saved you that initial digging and got Claude running cheaper that quickly.
You’re absolutely right on the methodology point. Right now the reliability ratings combine a few signals (uptime checks over time, error rates, and anecdotal feedback from heavy users), but I haven’t exposed the full scoring formula inside the guide yet.I’m already working on a more transparent reliability section with clearer criteria (e.g., minimum days monitored, threshold for status-page incidents, and latency buckets) so you can see why a gateway gets a certain score instead of just a star rating. For early adopters like you, I’ll push those methodology updates as a free version bump.
Pulled a couple of the base URLs into a quick test script and the DeepSeek reseller actually worked as a drop-in, which was a nice surprise. Wish the reliability notes had more detail on latency under load, but solid resource overall.
@fikretkoar6dg DeepSeek as a drop-in is one of the best surprises on that list — really solid OpenAI-compatible API at a fraction of the cost. On the latency-under-load point: totally valid feedback. I'm working on adding p95 latency data alongside the reliability scores so you get a clearer picture before committing to a provider for high-throughput workloads.
honestly the reliability ratings alone are worth it since i kept getting burned by random upstart endpoints, and having the base urls already tested saves a ton of guesswork.
@ylmazturan3du8 Totally feel that! getting burned by flaky endpoints is brutal when you’ve wired them into a real app. That’s why I focused on gateways that are live, tested, and OpenAI‑compatible, then added reliability scoring on top.
If you run into any provider on the list that starts degrading, let me know, I’m actively pruning and updating entries so this stays a trustworthy shortcut instead of another static link dump.
The base URL list alone saved me hours of digging, and the reliability ratings actually seem honest instead of just pushing the cheapest option.
@hediye237189 That honesty point is something I was very intentional about — there's no affiliate angle here, so the ratings are based on actual uptime and error rate data, not whoever pays the most. Glad it came through that way. Appreciate the support!
base URLs and per-token pricing all in one place is genuinely useful, saved me a few hours of digging. reliability ratings feel honest too, which is rare.
@berenmamhavtol Honest ratings are actually the hardest part to get right — appreciate you noticing. Having everything consolidated (base URL + per-token cost + reliability score) in one place is exactly the time sink I wanted to eliminate. Glad it saved you the digging!
