How did Astra change the scope or ambition of what you built?

It started as a one-off question for one ticket: what will I see from my seat? On my own, the realistic answer was a static seating chart. With GPT-6 Astra in Codex, a full 3D venue model was within reach, so the scope moved from "check one seat" to "let anyone explore any seat."
Once the model existed, every next step got cheap enough to say yes to. Baseball and concert layouts. Ticket-photo recognition so you don't have to type. A batting challenge on the virtual field. Stage configurations based on real shows, and a BIGBANG concept layout because a fan asked for it in the lobby. I even iterated from my actual seat during a game, comparing the simulated view with the real one and fixing sightlines on the spot.
The ambition changed too. What I thought would be a personal tool became something fans shared on their own, that Taiwanese TV news picked up, and that I now want to bring to more venues. Astra did not just speed up the build; it made the bigger product the default choice.

I got tickets to my first baseball game at Taipei Dome and wanted to answer one simple question: what would the view from my seat look like?
That question became 3DOME: an interactive 3D simulation you can explore before you arrive.
Enter your section, row and seat, or simply photograph your ticket and review the text recognized on your device. Then move into a simulated seat view and look around. You can switch between baseball and concert configurations, explore stage layouts, and even step onto the virtual field for a batting challenge.
I built it purely with GPT-6 Astra in Codex, guided by human design decisions and repeated testing. I even brought my laptop to a game and kept iterating with Astra from my actual seat, checking the simulated view against the real one. Turning the first model into a useful experience also meant listening to fans, checking views against available references, and refining the interaction. The challenge was making a complex 3D space easy for someone holding a ticket to use.
The response has been the biggest surprise. Three fans posted their own walkthroughs on Threads, and together those three posts have displayed more than 290,000 views, 16,000 likes and 10,000 shares as of September 18. None of them were ours. People quoted them to share the simulated view for their own section.
3DOME has also been covered and featured by several media in Taiwan, and referenced by Hong Kong's unwire.hk, with less than 7 days since its beta launch.
That attention also turned into a steady stream of feedback. Fans leave requests and corrections in the in-app lobby while they explore, and with Astra in Codex I could turn them into shipped changes fast. A wish for a BIGBANG show became a pre-show concept layout, and every update since has gone through the same loop: fan feedback in, Astra iteration out.
3DOME is an independent, unofficial simulation. Seats, sightlines and stage layouts are illustrative; actual event conditions can differ, and future-show concepts are labeled.
