With more than 70% startup closing with the very first year of launch, what are those choking points, why the startups are failing, why people are afraid to start a business ?
Hi Product Hunt š
I'm Shivam, founder of 10mins.
This started with a problem I kept running into in tier-2 India. A kirana owner, a travel agency with twelve cars, a laundry with two vans ā all of them have customers, all of them have local knowledge, and none of them have software.
Their options today are bad. A custom app costs ā¹10ā50 lakh and six to eighteen months. So instead they list on an aggregator that takes 25ā30% of every order and owns the customer relationship afterward. They end up renting back their own regulars.
We built the third option.
Pick the kind of business you run. Set your name, colours and prices. Your app deploys to its own web address in about ten minutes. Customers install it from a link ā no app store, no review queue, no 30% cut to Google or Apple.
Three decisions that shaped everything:
ā We never hold your money. You connect your own payment gateway. Customers pay you directly. We record what was sold and invoice our fee separately ā we are never a party to the transaction.
ā The customer is yours. Your name on the app, your list, your brand. That's the whole point.
ā Nothing is charged before you earn. Most apps are 5% of tracked sales. The online store takes 0%. A few bill a flat monthly fee. There's no version where you pay us first.
14 apps are live today: cab & ride, food delivery marketplace, kirana grocery, home services, courier delivery, laundry, licensed liquor delivery, ticket booking, event booking, streaming, podcast, online store, personal training, gym, wedding, real estate.
Some things I'd genuinely like feedback on:
⢠Is 5% of tracked sales the right model, or would you rather pay a flat fee?
⢠Which business type should we build next?
⢠For anyone outside India ā does the "bring your own payment gateway" model work in your market?
I'll be here all day. Ask me anything, including the hard stuff.
