What inspired me to build 108os was a frustration I kept running into on the GTM side — the prep work before outreach was broken. Every time I wanted to reach out to someone, I'd spend 20-30 minutes piecing together their story across LinkedIn, company pages, podcasts, news articles, GitHub. And even after all that, I'd still miss context that would've changed my entire approach. The problem isn't a lack of data — it's that it's scattered across 50+ sources and nobody has time to synthesize it manually at scale. The approach evolved significantly. I started building what I thought would be a sales outreach tool — auto-generate emails, sequences, the usual. But the more I used it, the more I realized the real value wasn't in the output (the message), it was in the input (actually understanding the person). So I pivoted hard toward intelligence-first. Instead of generating generic outreach, 108os builds structured dossiers — career history, behavioral patterns, company context, communication preferences — all cited with sources. The shift was from "write my cold email" to "know this person before you ever speak to them." Once you have that depth of understanding, the outreach writes itself — and it actually lands. The process taught me that in GTM, personalization isn't a feature.
