Zirra was hunted a few months back when they were still in beta. They have finally opened their databases for everyone, and for free. Zirra still sells analysis reports, but the database is free, and anyone can search for any startup and get data. The new open database provides the essence of Pitchbook and CB Insights, for every company, immediately. They include a unique NLP-based similarity mapping engine that, using hundreds of thousands of news articles, automatically identifies companies written about in a similar way. Other proprietary algorithms scan the media to spot meaningful events in the company’s history. The automatic report also includes web and mobile traffic analysis, HR open positions, general company information, key team members, their email and social links, and patent and trademark scanning. The information is extracted from 85 different public data sources from which they are able to derive in-depth and meaningful insights. This is a learning system that quickly improves as it’s used.

@kwdinc sounds pretty cool, will be interesting to see how accurate it is given they're aggregating data

Thanks @kwdinc ! There are currently three products, with the newest one is the free Startups Spotlight database announced above. Let’s describe each of them briefly: 1.The free Startup Spotlight database: We created a search engine that aggregates and analyze information from various sources about startups. You can find there a unique NLP-based similarity mapping engine that, using hundreds of thousands of news articles, automatically identifies companies written about in a similar way. Other algorithms scan the media to spot meaningful events in the company’s history. The open database includes also web and mobile traffic analysis, HR open positions, general company information, key team members, their email and social links, and patent and trademark scanning 2.Premium Insights Report, a brief discussion of the data gathered, together with a summary of the company’s business and marketing strategy, competitive position, market forecast, exit indicators, HR analysis and inside scoops, curated by Zirra’s researchers. Take for example a report on Spotify (https://www.zirra.com/companies/...), or smaller company such as the drone maker Airobotic (https://www.zirra.com/companies/...) 3.Due Diligence Report, a longer, deeper dive into a company, which includes a more elaborate analysis of the company, its competitors, and a comprehensive expert's opinion set that adds the crowd's wisdom into the report and a deeper familiarity with the company, industry and the market.

Latest Event for Netflix (https://www.zirra.com/spotlight-...) : ACQUISITION: Netflix acquired HBO. 😸 & the "View Source" button sends me to an article about the BBC. I think 99 dollars per report might be a bit too much to get this kind of info 🙃

@imromains Hi Romain! It's important to note that our platform is free, and it is still in beta. As you might know, every AI and machine learning platform depends on usage. The challenge of creating insights on every company is enormous and right now we are only the beginning of it. Feel free to assist us with this journey and send all errors to info@zirra.com. The $99 report is another product: It's a report curated by our team of analysts sent to you within 24-48 hours, and therefore will not include errors you might see in the free database

@assafgi @imromains @zirra Hi Romain - let us know if you wish to get a free sample of our 99 dollar report and you can check out the difference and quality for yourself. you may find it useful :)

Just tried it for my company Recast.AI data seem to come from Crunchbase or Angel List which is not completely up to date. The competitors were not accurate, not sure where you got those from ? What is the added value compare to mattermark or crunch base ?
Assaf GiladMaker@assafgi · Marketing @ Apester
@pedward_lieb Hi Edward. The database also includes a unique NLP-based similarity mapping engine that, using hundreds of thousands of news articles, automatically identifies companies written about in a similar way. This may find other current or future competitors that you as a CEO didn't think about. Other proprietary algorithms scan the media to spot meaningful events in the company’s history. The automatic report also includes web and mobile traffic analysis, HR open positions, general company information, key team members, their email and social links, and patent and trademark scanning. However, It's important to note that our platform is free, and it is still in beta. As you might know, every AI and machine learning platform depends on usage. The challenge of creating insights on every company is enormous and right now we are only the beginning of it. Feel free to assist us with this journey and send all errors to info@zirra.com

I used Zirra for a competitive analysis for a public company. In part i was a bit disappointed. You would expect a research company to atleast digest 10K forms which contains useful analysis by the company itself and summarize. The report didnt recognize it was a public company and marked valuation as unknown. $100 might be too high a price.
Assaf GiladMaker@assafgi · Marketing @ Apester
@taggy Hi Theyagarajan, I am sorry to hear you weren't pleased with the report. Zirra enjoys a terrific satisfaction rate and a new customer return rate of over 80%. We will gladly issue a refund or we will be happy to review another company for you with no additional charge
