Word Counter is an easy to use online tool for counting characters, words, sentences, paragraphs and pages in real time.

You can also use it to track your text length against common web standards like Twitter's tweet character count (280), Google's meta description (160), and Facebook's average post display length (~250).

    Pros:

Wonderful to use and great to look at too!

    Cons:

Would love to see reading level added as a feature.

Found this product a few months ago while searching Google. I had been using another free word counting tool for a while but so glad someone decided to apply a little design to this product space.

    Pros:

    Has potential

    Cons:

Doesn't seem ready for prime time as of Feb. 03, 2018

The keyword density doesn't seem to work. The Twitter stuff is showing negative numbers. Keep going!

FINALLY a word counter that doesn’t have that old ugly vibe going on. 🙌 Shows 140 characters for Twitter, though. 🤔

Other than cutting and pasting, is there a way to scan a web page url to get a count.?

This is a very smart idea. I could see this being incredibly useful for enterprise agencies. I work in marketing and folks are constantly asking me the word count limits for various platforms!
