WhatsApp Business is a free to download app that was built with the small business owner in mind. Create a catalog to showcase your products and services. Connect with your customers easily by using tools to automate, sort and quickly respond to messages.
Reviewers see WhatsApp Business as a practical tool for direct customer communication, especially for small or solo operators handling lots of inbound messages. The most praised features are Quick Replies, labels, and business-hour settings, which help organize chats, answer FAQs faster, and separate work from a private number. One founder of Kipps AI also points to the WhatsApp API and Business Platform for automated, real-time customer conversations. The main complaints are rigid setup, number-verification issues, and slow, often unresponsive support.
As a solo founder, managing customer inquiries manually is impossible. The "Quick Replies" feature allows me to save shortcuts for FAQs, saving me hours of repetitive typing every single week. I also heavily rely on Labels to organize chats (examples are "New Order," "Pending Payment," "Shipped"), which keeps my inbox clean and ensures no customer falls through the cracks.
What needs improvement
For me, the account setup can sometimes feel a bit rigid when trying to verify a business landline, and customer support can be slow to respond if you run into Meta Business integration issues.
Looked at Slack and email, but WhatsApp Business is vastly superior for direct B2C communication since it feels personal yet keeps my private phone number separate.
I had an issue while setting up my business account. For some reason WA has blocked my number and the support was not responsive at all. It took them a week to get answer me properly. The tool is good, the support should be much better.
