Hey Product Hunt! 👋 Excited to share Vibe Backup with the developer community! As a developer myself, I've lost count of how many times I wished I had a "time machine" for my code projects. That's exactly why I built Vibe Backup - to give developers the peace of mind that their code is always safe and easily recoverable. What makes this special: It's built specifically for the "vibe coding" workflow (you know, when you're in the zone and don't want to think about backups) One global hotkey and you're backed up instantly Auto-backup on every Git commit with your commit message as the backup description Visual timeline to see your entire project history One-click rollback to any previous version The "aha" moment: When I accidentally deleted a whole feature I'd been working on for hours, and Vibe Backup had me back to exactly where I was in seconds. That's when I knew this had to exist. Would love to hear your thoughts and experiences with code backup solutions! What's your biggest pain point when it comes to protecting your projects? Happy coding! 🚀

As someone who’s been following the developments in vibe coding, I really get the thinking behind this, and I have to say, this is pretty cool.

Yes, we already have Git and other backup solutions for traditional developers, but those don’t quite fit the vibe coding mindset. When you’re in the flow, you don’t want to break that rhythm with complex version control commands — you just want something that works seamlessly in the background and keeps you safe.

That’s why I think Vibe Backup makes a lot of sense. Even if people say “this tech already exists,” it doesn’t really cater to the current vibe coding audience. This feels like a tool made for them, not just ported over from the traditional dev world.

Excited to see how this evolves — I think you’ve nailed something important here

@aspireve1 Thanks so much for really understanding the idea behind Vibe Backup! I wanted to build something that fits seamlessly into the vibe coding flow—something that keeps your work safe without interrupting your creative momentum. Traditional tools are great, but they just don’t quite match this mindset. Your support truly means a lot to me.

Interesting and practical idea!

I remember figuring out how to manage git in the Cursor when I first learning vibe coding, and still find it hard to remember commands and how it works

If this is easy enough to apply to the current workflow, it will be huge for those like me

It would be great if you could record the walk-through video

@daniellee2309 That’s exactly why I created Vibe Backup—to be simple and seamless, fitting right into your workflow without any extra hassle.

I love the idea of a walk-through video, and I’m planning to put one together soon to help everyone get up to speed quickly. Thanks so much for your valuable feedback!
