Real-time uptime monitoring, detailed DNS analysis, and instant outage alerts right from your native Mac app.

Hey Product Hunt! π
I'm Madhu, and I built URL Guardian because I kept doing something embarrassing - opening a browser tab just to check if my site was still up.
I tried the existing uptime monitors. They all wanted me to create an account, set up a dashboard, and pipe my data through their servers. For something this simple, that felt like overkill.
So I built a native Mac app that lives in the menu bar and just... watches the sites. No account. No backend. No subscription. Your data stays on your Mac.
What started as a weekend `scratch-my-own-itch` project turned into something I use every single day.
URL Guardian checks your sites on a configurable interval, alerts when something goes down (and again when it recovers), monitors SSL certificate expiry before it catches you off guard, and lets you inspect the full request/response right from the menu bar. No DevTools, no terminal.
A few things I'm particularly proud of:
- It's entirely native SwiftUI - fast, lightweight, feels like it belongs on your Mac
- SSL cert expiry warnings with a configurable warning window - because finding out the cert expired from a customer is the worst
- Full response headers and DNS info inline, for when "it's down" isn't enough and you need to know why
- Smart alerts with retry logic so a single blip doesn't distract you
The free tier covers 3 sites with 5-minute checks. Enough to get a real feel for it. Pro unlocks unlimited sites, 1-minute intervals, and the deeper monitoring features.
I'd love to hear what you think. What would you want from a tool like this? I'm actively building and every piece of feedback shapes what comes next. ππΌ πͺ
