Unshorten Link and browse safely. Know WhereGoes your link before you click open. Expand URL And get the original Link. More than a Link redirect trace.
What is UnshortLink?
UnshortLink is a URL redirect checker that helps you trace the path of a shortened or redirected URL, providing detailed insights into each step a URL takes before reaching its final destination. With UnshortLink, you can easily expand URLs to uncover their true endpoints, enabling a clear understanding of where a link leads and helping to avoid malicious sites. This tool is essential for anyone who frequently encounters shortened links and wants to know the full URL before clicking. Serving as a robust alternative to similar tools like wheregoes.com, unshorten.it, and expandurl.net, UnshortLink simplifies the process of following redirects while enhancing online security through its comprehensive Link Redirect Trace.
I subscribed to the API on Monday, 19th January 2026. However, the admin panel shows conflicting usage information for the same subscription: one progress bar displays 1/1, while another shows 1/20,000. Despite this, any API request returns an error stating that the usage limit has been exceeded.
I contacted contact@unshortlink.com on the same day to report this issue, but I have not received any response so far.
Today, I cancelled the subscription. At this point, I am unsure whether I will receive a refund, and I am also unclear whether the cancellation has fully stopped future charges or if my account has been unsubscribed correctly.
Overall, this has been a frustrating experience due to the lack of clarity and support. I would not recommend this service based on my experience.
Super helpful tool, man.
Hope to see the Google Chrome extension soon.
Good luck with the launch. :)

This is exactly the thing i was looking for. I know short URLs are cool but if it's from a stranger, we don't quite know what's on the other end of it. We could click and find out but it still feels unsafe. With UnshortLink, I personally can now suppress my fear of unknown short links.
Congrats and thank you @donmed for this!
Just tried it out. A very nifty tool. Thanks for building it.
Would be great if there was a plugin version of the same that allows me to verify links when I see it.
@donmed This service is great. I see you are already working on a Chrome extension, that would make the process even easier. I can imagine that integrating your service into mail clients could also be super helpful to check for those phishing mails with their fake websites? Maybe the user could be warned or informed that it is not safe to open the link.
Congrats on the launch π
Congrats on the release, @donmed! This app has really impressed me. The design is intuitive and the functionality is exactly what I needed. The team has done a fantastic job. How did you get started with this project?
