Your meeting-notes app wants the recording, an account, and a card. Ulpaso doesn't. Press record. Mic + system audio get transcribed on your Mac and land in a Markdown file you can actually edit. No cloud. No login. No $20/mo for a checklist.
i got tired of apps that need my meeting, my email, and my credit card before i can write anything down. so i made a local markdown editor that just… takes the meeting.
press record. your mic and system audio get transcribed on your mac, organized by speaker, dropped into a real .md file in ~/Documents. you can edit it. it’s a file. that’s the whole product.
no cloud workspace. no proprietary format. no subscription. no account. no telemetry. free, forever, on your machine. mit license.
curious what meeting you’d actually record with this. not the “someday” one. the one on monday.
No login is the part that sells it, since half of these want an account first. Does it handle two people talking over each other? We went live today too, good luck out there.

the meeting on monday for me would be a client call where they share account numbers or other sensitive stuff out loud that I don't want sitting in someone else's cloud transcription history. that's the actual reason I'd pick this over the AI notetaker bots - not the price, the fact that a plain .md file on my own disk is the only format I'd trust for that kind of call.
