Sean Tepper
Hello Product Hunt Community 👋 I’m Sean Tepper, the Founder and CEO of Tykr. My team and I are excited to officially launch the new Tykr mobile app (iOS and Android)! Tykr helps beginners as well as advanced investors, confidently manage their own investments. If you want to know… • What stocks to look for • What stocks to avoid • When to buy • When to sell • How to reduce risk • How to confidently invest on your own Then Tykr is perfect for you! To back up for a second and provide a quick backstory on Tykr… In 2011 I began my investing journey. At that time, I found it nearly impossible to know where to start (If you’re a beginner, don’t worry, you’re not alone!). I also found it confusing to know the difference between a GOOD stock and a BAD stock. There is a lot of bad advice on YouTube, Twitter, Reddit, TikTok, etc and it’s hard to know what to look for and what to avoid. Fortunately, I found the teachings of Warren Buffett, Charlie Munger, and Phil Town to be very helpful. In 2015 I started working on an Excel sheet and I wanted to gamify this sheet with a point system between 0 and 100. 0 being a weak stock and 100 being a strong stock. That would allow me to truly know what stocks to look for and what stocks to avoid. Between 2016 and 2019 my annual returns ranged between 15% and 50%. As Warren, Charlie, and Phil teach us, we should aim for more than 15% per year. In other words, the Excel sheet worked! In 2019 I shared the Excel sheet with a few beginners as well as experienced investors and their response was “When are you going to turn this into a software platform to share with others?” At that moment I decided to move forward with the idea and it took about one year to build the first version. In 2020, Tykr went live as a web app. In 2024, Tykr now has over 9,000 customers in over 50 countries and we’re proud to say our Trustpilot score is a 4.9/5.0. Quick Q&A: Q: What features have been launched so far? A: The web app currently includes the following: • 40,000+ Stocks • 1,500+ ETFs • 1,500 Crypto coins • Watchlist • Watchlist alerts (When things change on your favorite stocks, you get notified!) • Portfolio tracker • 4M Confidence Booster (Powered by OpenAI) • Alerts • Trade journal Q: Will the mobile app include the features listed above? A: Yes! Plus, we will also include Duolingo-inspired educational modules to help investors get up-to-speed so they can confidently invest as soon as they like. Q: If I join the mobile app, can I also use the web app? A: Yes! No matter if you join the mobile app or web app, you get access to both platforms. In other words, if you make changes on one platform, they are automatically reflected on the other platform. (Similar to using Facebook and LinkedIn). Q: Why are we launching on Product Hunt? A: We are launching on Product Hunt for two main reasons: • To gain exposure • To gain your feedback on the new mobile app (so we can make it better) Q: What is on the Tykr roadmap? A: Here are the features we will work on next: • Starter Funds (“Easy Button” templates to save you time.) • Projections (See the estimated share prices in 1Y, 5Y and 10Y) • Past results (See the past results of Tykr) • Portfolio tracker improvements (Fractional shares, dividends, and more) • Broker connections (Connect your broker so you can buy and sell stocks in Tykr) Please let us know if you have any suggestions or feedback in the comments. We can’t wait to hear your feedback on the new mobile app!

Hi Sean! Thank you for adding educational modules, it's a big deal! By the way, do you plan to support any other languages for the app?
Sean Tepper
@anastasiia_stepko Thanks for the support! Yes, we do plan on supporting other languages. This is on our roadmap.

phenomenal tool from an amazing founder. I have been with Tykr for a while now and it keeps getting better.
Sean Tepper
@osazeme_usen Thank you for the support! Glad to hear you like the progression of the platform.
Dmytro Semonov
Nice, thank you Sean. I'm just starting my journey in the investment field, so Tykr is an interesting stuff to check out. BTW, can you share more about the 'Starter Funds' feature on your roadmap? How will these templates simplify the investment process for users?
Sean Tepper
@dmytro_semonov Thanks for the support! The Starter Funds will essentially be an "Easy Button" of 10 - 15 stocks per fund. Examples include "Top Tech Stocks". "Top Automotive Stocks", or "Top Restaurant Stocks". You'll then be able to copy/paste the entire fund to a watchlist or copy/paste individual stocks to watchlists. You'll also see the returns of the fund compared against the S&P 500.

Fantastic work, Sean! It's impressive to see the remarkable progress the platform has made. Wishing you continued success and looking forward to seeing what's next!
Sean Tepper
@elgar_weijtmans Thanks for the support! The Tykr team really did a great job.

Hey @seantepper Congrats on the launch. I hope more people get to know about it and use this to make better decisions while investing. Just a couple of things I saw during the onboarding that you might want to get fixed for better experience to the user : 1. The app does not let you proceed without selecting for a watchlist from the given options (limited in number) 2. There is no option to select PH for the questions - where did you hear about us. You will not be able to quantify how successful the launch was without it. Otherwise, a great app, would recommend to all my friends.
Sean Tepper
@taran_srivastava thanks for the support! I'll do my best to help answer your questions. 1. The watchlist selection within the onboarding provides a short list of stocks. At that point in the tool, we don't want to overwhelm new customers with too many decisions. When you get to the Stocks page in Tykr, you can search for over 40,000 stocks. There should be some great investing choices within that list. 2. Great call on adding Product Hunt as on option for "Where did you hear about us." We're adding it to our Github board right now!
