VPNs are not as secure as we think. Be careful using passwords and other identifiable information through companies that may not have the same security interests as you do.

Pros:

Easy to Use

Cons:

Americans may want to avoid VPNs made in Russia

A great VPN that takes it's security seriously but the monthly pricing is overly expensive with no justification other than to make the yearly plan look better.

Pros:

Great interface

Cons:

Expensive monthly

To be fair, most VPN services do that. It has become an unfortunate industry standard. I've yet to see a VPN service with an affordable monthly plan that doesn't feel like a waste of money compared to yearly plans' per-month rates.

I want my VPN connection to be seamless and transparent — connect automatically, stay connected, and get out of the way. With TunnelBear, despite the fun bear-themed UI, I spent way too much time fumbling with connection issues across Mac and iPhone, and several apps on iPhone (including Nest) couldn't connect when TunnelBear was enabled. Confusingly, some features of the app worked normally, and others (streaming) didn't work at all. I was told by the support team that this was likely due to a port incompatibility issue, and... that's pretty much where the support ended. I asked for a refund after a few months — I had paid a year in advance, which they didn't pro-rate, but kept the monthly billing rate and refunded the rest — and I switched to a competitor.

Pros:

Fun UI

Cons:

Blocks some iPhone apps from the internet (Nest app)

Great product if you're looking to bypass filters or want to casually mask your browsing from Wifi networks. Don't use it for serious security though.

Pros:

Really easy to use, works flawlessly on all devices I tested it on

Cons:

Owned by McAfee, which puts a huge dent in security reliability.

I like the UI UX. BUT, it is not as stable as you might think. Sometimes, it takes too long to complete a connection. Sometimes, the program wouldn't work. The UI is fun though.
