Hey Product Hunt! A little less than a year ago, our team came together to build a video recording tool for remote workers. Little did we know, we’d be building Threadit while also working from home ourselves. Our team was the original beta tester group — we used Threadit for daily standups, async design reviews, and even external partner outreach. To use Threadit, simply speak straight to the camera or share your screen; if you don’t like how it sounded, just hit record and try it again. Record as many short clips as you’d like, and Threadit will stitch them all together into one cohesive video message. When you’re done, send it off to your team. Anyone can reply with their own video message when they’re ready — it’s all part of one conversation. Try Threadit for free from your web browser at threadit.app or get our chrome extension for the full seamless experience. Let us know how your team would use Threadit!

@alainchuard Thanks Alain!

Record a short video of a few slides or diagrams, or a spreadsheet, and include an intro clip and a conclusion with your webcam. Think business TikTok for short meetings, except you're sharing PPTs/XLS instead of sea shanties

@elliott_ng You got it Elliott. It helps to show your work with fewer meetings!

I use this daily. Such a great tool. Congrats @keller_smith and team!

I have some feedback on your landing page - take it as you will. I'm guessing you're a Loom competitor? I came to your page expecting to find some indication of what the product actually looks like - this means live videos with people talking over screen recordings. Loom does this on their home page perfectly: https://www.loom.com/ I land there, and I get a demo of what a Loom looks like.  On your page, I instead see a concept video with some illustrations which don't represent the actual product to me, and later down the page there are some still images.

@guamhat Hi Gautham , thanks for your feedback! Threadit is similar to Loom in that we both offer asynchronous video messages. We're different in that we built this product for remote workers first and prioritized an easy, structured recording flow to help you transform short video recordings into compelling visual messages. Completely agree that we have room to add more live demos to our landing page. Now that we've introduced our product and brand as a way to use short video recordings to work together and get time back, we will be looking to further build out our online presence :) Give our product a try at threadit.app and let us know if you have any thoughts there as well!

fyi: I just started using Bubbles (usebubbles.com) and was a Loom beta user back in 2017. When I saw the alert from PH for Threadit by Google I was quite interested. I'm a Google fan boy and use a great deal of the Google productivity products. I found much of the on-boarding experience with Threadit to be quite underwhelming and disappointing. I'll keep experimenting and try to make a few videos to capture my experiences if that would be helpful.

@ronsheridan Yes, we'd welcome any feedback you have for us. We're rapidly incorporating user feedback to make it better. You can send us your thoughts at https://threadit.app/support

I wish there were some examples - it is hard for me to wrap my head around what this would be used for

@thisfishisblue1 Hi Mike, Threadit is useful for standups, project updates, pitches, or really anything you might schedule a meeting about. By recording your cam/screen message aysnc, you can cut down on meetings and still allow people to reply/collaborate on their own time.

Looks like it could be a useful product. FYI I tested it and it seems a bit buggy - I wasn't able to edit the title of a video in a multi-video threadit I created; and I wasn't able to edit the description of the overall video before sharing. I also clicked to view the transcript and it's loading forever, with no transcript in sight. I clicked to publish it but when I try to view the link in Incognito I get a white screen.
