This product has a backstory! I met Ferdinand at a local Hack Night while he was getting his CompSci degree. I was impressed with all the solo projects he'd done so far. Once he graduated, I offered to hire him over the summer/fall and give him his first "tech job." The project we decided to work on together is Swag Fan! Over at Transistor.fm, we've had a lot of success using swag as a marketing and promotion channel. We send our customers, fans, and influencers hats, t-shirts, and stickers. In turn, they promote us organically on social media and when they go to events (by wearing our gear!). We've always used Printful for printing and shipping these items, but having people choose their items, tell me their size, and give me their address was awkward (and typically took place over DMs). Swag Fan is the "merch giveaway" app I've always wanted. You can use it to connect to Printful, generate branded giveaway links, determine how many items you want to give away, track redemptions, and view all the contacts who have redeemed free swag. Once a swag link is out of items, you can collect names and email addresses for future giveaways! This is Ferdinand's first full-fledged SaaS project, and he's eager to see how people respond. (We've had a Senior Laravel developer review his work.) We've priced Swag Fan at $99/year for early access users. It essentially gives you an automated giveaway engine. (PS - another cool use for Swag Fan is to publish the QR codes during live streams and have people scan the code to redeem while you're live!)

@mijustin I love this idea so much. From the product idea to the opportunity itself, this is superbly thoughtful; you're putting a whole lot of good stuff into the universe all at once. I wish PH saw _more_ launches like this!

Dude! This looks amazing. I’ve always thought Printful has great stuff, so I’m glad you guys built it with the Printful API. Now I’ve got no excuse for not sending out merch 👕 Tell Ferdinand he did a killer job 🤘 Also, I love that you guys used Livewire and Alpine in this project!

@tonylea this is the part I love – it just makes it so much easier to send people swag.

I freaking love this - I'd hacked together something similar out of Typeform and it wasn't nearly as slick and useful. Well done!
Justin Jackson
@mbuckbee yeah, we built in a bunch of additional features (limit number of products redeemed, limit total redemptions, have a "sign up for waiting list" form appear once the giveaway has ended).

This looks awesome! I have several things I’d like to use this for.
Justin Jackson
@1kevgriff sweet! You should sign up and give it a try! I've already got it running for Transistor and MegaMaker giveaways.

This looks really good! I can see myself using this in the near future.

This looks awesome. Solves the major pain point of "I'm really lazy at sending out swag" ;)
Justin Jackson
@harisenbon79 yes!! Honestly, it's been so much easier for me to just send folks a link now, and let them choose what they want, and have it shipped to them automatically.
Peter Suhm
Awesome idea, could definitely see myself use something like that!
Justin Jackson
@petersuhm it's actually really killer for embroidered products like hats. It just works "on-demand".
