Hey Product Hunt! 👋 Today I'm releasing my very first project here on ProductHunt 😺 I hope you find startup name check useful. Please bear with me while I'm learning more about ProductHunt and improve startup name check itself. About startup name check 👈 startup name check saves you time by checking the names for your new startup, side project or open source project. No need to go around the web and check domains and social media for each idea you come up with. All information, in one place. Roadmap 🛣 Currently, only the main domain endings and social media networks are checked. There a lots more things that can be added over time. Not just more networks and domain endings are on the roadmap. I'm thinking of adding suggestions for different ways to write names for example. I'm also considering other types of services. Looking forward to your ideas :) A little background 🐣 A while ago I left the mines of IT slavery to become my own slave master ;) I started as a location-independent freelancer. By now I'm working on my own products to become more independent from regular contracting. Wanna see me? Follow me on Twitter or subscribe here to stay tuned for what is coming for startup name check! 🍻 Special thanks to @rhysbeingsocial and @thomaspetracco for helping me with feedback and ideas in the early stage! You’ve helped to make this better!

Hope you searched for "startup name check" before launching?! Nice idea but maybe worth looking at namechk to add more depth. Domain names are good but social media handles are crucial for startups as well. Can you you go beyond what they offer?
Peter ThaleikisMaker@spekulatius1984 · Developer & Indie Hacker
Hello @davidjlowe, I had a brief search before starting. Mostly I built it because I wanted it ;) More domains and social networks are coming in the next versions. This is very MVP. I'm considering suggestions for alternative names/ways to write, stats, on-going tracking. Have you got more ideas you would like to see? Peter
David Lowe@davidjlowe · Founder Qwerky.co and Callergy.co
@spekulatius1984 Social media handles & maybe popularity of the name/keyword
Peter ThaleikisMaker@spekulatius1984 · Developer & Indie Hacker
@davidjlowe cool. I'll keep this in mind for the next version.
Calvin Chu@calchulus
Does this keep track of any data of domains I might be interested in? Afraid someone might tkae the data and jump ahead of me :P
Peter ThaleikisMaker@spekulatius1984 · Developer & Indie Hacker
@calchulus I save the data for statistical purposes, but I'm not sharing it anywhere. @thomaspetracco raised the idea to add anonymous statistics like "This name has been researched 2 times before."
